Washington, July 21, 2022 – The Sustainable Food Policy Alliance (SFPA), which includes global food companies Danone North America, Mars, Incorporated, Nestlé USA, and Unilever United States, released the following statement:
“The reauthorization and strengthening of child nutrition programs, which provide children access to nutritious food and set them up for a lifetime of making positive dietary choices, is essential to improving health outcomes for children across the United States.
“SFPA appreciates the introduction of legislation to reauthorize Child Nutrition Programs by House Education and Labor Committee Chairman Bobby Scott and Rep. Suzanne Bonamici, and is pleased to see provisions aimed at curbing food insecurity while ensuring nutrition security and better aligning school feeding programs with the Dietary Guidelines. We look forward to working with lawmakers on this important legislation.”
