SFPA Asks Congress to Continue Strong Investment in Conservation and Climate Programs

Washington, May 22, 2024 – The Sustainable Food Policy Alliance (SFPA) wrote to the leadership of the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Committee and the House Agriculture Committee to underscore the importance of continuing strong investment in conservation and climate programs ahead a markup of the “Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2024” in the House Agriculture Committee. Farmers, producers, and growers will need access to innovative, science-based solutions to address climate change, water quality, greenhouse gas emissions, and soil health, and the wide suite of U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) conservation and climate programs is critical to connect these important constituents with key tools to meet these challenges.
